There are a number of ways to get the IIRE from central Amsterdam. They are all pretty easy, but we recommend you print out a map online, because Amsterdam's streets do not follow a regular grid.

From Central Station
Option 1. By train to Muiderpoort (5 min)

Walking to IIRE: 10 min

You'll arrive either at platform 9 or at platforms 2 and 3. There's a pedestrian and bike underpass below platforms 2 and 3 which leads to a tram and bus station. You take that underpass, onto Celebesstraat. Turn left when you come out from the underpass, cross over the Insulindeweg and stay on Celebesstraat, keeping the railway line on your left hand side. After about 5 minutes, you'll see a fenced-in a basketball court on your left. On your right is Bankastraat. Turn right onto Bankastraat and follow it to the end where it joins Borneostraat, the main road. You will see our big Timorplein building in front of you, on the other side of Borneostraat. Cross over the Borneostraat and walk past Studio K. Take the first left, that is Lombokstraat. The entrance to the IIRE is on your left.

Option 2. With Bus 43 to Borneo island, stop at "Het Funen" (8 min)

Walking to IIRE: 10 min

Get off the bus and walk west along Cruquiuskade. Turn right (onto Panamalaan) and cross over canals twice. Turn left on to Zeeburgerdijk) and after 200 meters turn right onto Lombokstraat. The entrance to the IIRE is on your right, at number 40.

Option3: Take bus 22 (every 10 min) to Javaplein, stop Javaplein (20 min)

IIRE walk: 5 min

Stop for station CS

You arrive at Javaplein. Cross the street and walk onto Borneostraat. The second right is the Lombokstraat. On the left is the entrance to the IIRE, at number 40.
